Volunteering on the Friends of Franklin Foundation is a great way to make friends, support your children’s learning, and have a positive impact on the community. Volunteer Opportunity #1: Thank You Letter Writer
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month, year round. Flexible hours, no meetings.
Responsibilities: The Foundation receives donations throughout the year. The Thank You Letter Writer works with the Foundation Treasurer to ensure every donor receives a prompt and personalized Thank You Letter!

Volunteer Opportunity #2: Newsletter Photographer
Time Commitment: 1 hour per month, September to June. Flexible hours, no meetings.
Responsibilities: The Foundation produces a quarterly community newsletter. The Newsletter Photographer works with the Newsletter Editor to provide photographs of Franklin staff and students for inclusion in the newsletter.

Volunteer Opportunity #3: Newsletter Editor
Time Commitment: 1 hour per month, year round. Flexible hours, no meetings.
Responsibilities: The Foundation produces a quarterly community newsletter. The Newsletter Editor works with the Foundation Communications Lead to produce content for inclusion in the newsletter.

Volunteer Opportunity #4: PTA Liaison
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month, September to June. Monthly meeting attendance required.
Responsibilities: The Foundation works closely with the Franklin Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to support student learning and staff development. The PTA liaison attends the monthly meetings for both the PTA and the Foundation and relays important information to each organization during their respective meeting times.

Volunteer Opportunity #5: Fundraising Campaign Coordinator: Jog-A-Thon
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month, January to April. Some meeting attendance required in Spring.
Responsibilities: The Jog-A-Thon is a new fundraising event planned for the 2020-2021 school year. The Jog-A-Thon Coordinator works with the Foundation Fundraising Lead to schedule, promote, and support the Jog-A-Thon event including identifying third party partners, selecting an event date, and coordinating necessary arrangements on campus.

Volunteer Opportunity #6: Fundraising Campaign Coordinator: Annual Appeal
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month, September to December. Some meeting attendance required in Fall.
Responsibilities: The Annual Appeal is a fundraising event for the Foundation planned for the start of the school year. The Annual Appeal Coordinator works with the Foundation Fundraising Lead to schedule, promote, and support the Annual Appeal event including updating the Appeal Letter, coordinating mailing to all donors, and distribution to all Franklin families.

Volunteer Opportunity #7: Fundraising Campaign Coordinator: Franklin Fiesta
Time Commitment: 4 hours per month, January to June. Some meeting attendance required in Spring.
Responsibilities: The Franklin Fiesta is a fundraising event planned for early May. The Franklin Fiesta Coordinator works with the Foundation Fundraising Lead to schedule, promote, and support the Franklin Fiesta event including coordinating with Ponce’s Restaurant for food and space, obtaining any necessary permits from the city of San Diego, and coordinating other Foundation resources to support the event.

Volunteer Opportunity #8: Social Media Manager
Time Commitment: 1 hour per month, year round. Flexible hours, no meetings.
Responsibilities: Produce and post weekly content on Friends of Franklin Foundation’s social media platforms to increase engagement with supporters and raise awareness about fundraising campaigns and events.
