Franklin Elementary’s 90th Anniversary

This year is Franklin Elementary’s 90th Anniversary!  Go Flyers!  On April 6th, Franklin alumni, staff, city leaders and community members came together to celebrate.

From 1929, when its doors first opened, up through today under its new STEAM banner, many great minds have been nurtured at Franklin Elementary.

Past and current students, teachers and principals, including the esteemed Bob Holmes, all came together to reconnect, share memories and celebrate what Franklin Elementary means to this community.  Elected representatives, including Congresswoman Susan Davis and School Board President Sharon Whitehurst-Payne shared praise of all the great things Franklin has done and where it is headed in the future.

To all the volunteers who helped put on the event, the event committee, teachers and staff – Thank you!  It was a great event and Franklin has a lot to celebrate.  A very special thank you to Dixie Blake who spearheaded the entire affair.

Please enjoy a photo journey through the event.  And please consider a donation in support of all the great things happening at Franklin Elementary STEAM Magnet.

Thank you!
